One of these days, I promise I’m going to start reviewing lipstick brands other than Lipstick Queen. Until then, I will subject you to one more from this amazing little company that has become an every day favorite of mine over the past few months. Upper East is one of three shades from Lipstick Queen’s Liptropolis collection. This collection is inspired by the many neighborhoods of New York City and is a tribute to fashionable women in cities everywhere. Upper East is available at Ulta for $22.
This lipstick is a gorgeous dusty rose with a hint of rust that flatters the peachy-pink tones in my complexion perfectly. The formula is said to be not as sheer and shiny as the lipsticks from the Saints collection, but not quite as opaque as those from the Sinners collection. I can’t vouch for that since I’ve yet to try any lipsticks from the Sinners collection, but I do find this to be relatively opaque with just a touch of shine once it’s on my lips. Still, it is very moisturizing and I find that even when my lips are really dry, it hydrates them really well and it doesn’t build up in the dry areas at all. It glides on smoothly and lasts for a very long time. This is, by far, one of my favorite shades to wear because it is neutral enough to go with practically everything, making it ideal for days when I don’t feel like putting much effort into my makeup, but I still want to look nice. There is no doubt that I will be purchasing this again as soon as I run out. It’s low-maintenance and it can either liven up a neutral makeup look or compliment even more dramatic styles. I’m in love. Forever and ever.
Here’s how it looks:
