For Christmas last year, my husband gave me the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret (saving that for another post), a collection of NARS matte and satin lip pencils. It was my first time trying any of the NARS lip pencils. At the time I was lip pencil crazy and needed to try all of them, so it was a good starter set. While the mattes in that collection were very drying on me and gave me granny lips, I fell in love with the satin pencils. On our trip to Vegas in February I had to hit up a real live Sephora store (my town only has the dinky JCPenny version) and the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Hyde Park ended up being one of the treasures I brought home with me. Walking into Sephora without a specific mission is a lot like going to the grocery store without a list when you’re hungry. You pick out one thing, try to pair it with something else, walk back and forth to each end of the store about 45 times because you keep thinking of things you want to get, and then you get home and realize you didn’t end up buying anything even remotely practical.
